Default Porsche take over VW (and Audi)

Surprised no-one has been talking about this. Porsche buy over 50% shares in VW and hence Audi.

Read all about it here: http://www.pistonheads.com/porsche/d...?storyId=19189

So Porsche own VW, Audi, Lamborghini, Scania (maybe), Saab?......who else? They plan to buy up to 75% shares by summer, thus giving them full control.

Maybe now we will see Audi making a return to RWD A4's?

Its been on the cards for a few years now

I doubt Saab will be as they have been part of GM group since the mid 1990's- and have been under full GM control since 2000 when GM bought the majority share. Even though GM are in a bad way I can't see them selling Saab (they make no money for GM) and they are too heavily linked into the GM parts bin, besides any real Saab identity has now been lost since all of their models are vectras or subarus underneath - quite sad really...

Not really - most people think of Scania or Saab and think they are still linked.

I thought they were myself to be honest or at least part of GM.

Can't see Porsche doing it for any other reason other than financial gain.
it would be sacrilege for them to cease production of the 'competition' such as the R8 and Gallardo, and I doubt very much that they would do that anyway as they are hardly the kind of company who would shaft themselves in the foot.

Porsche has bought into the VAG Group because it NEEDS the technology and expertise present in Audi/VW group.

so long as Herr Piech is about he will stamp on weiderberger or what ever his name is...Wielderkin?? and direct the Main board as he sees fit.

See how long it is before Porsche has an Audi sourced engine.... the new Cayman 6 pot boxer engine has cooling issues with its turbo charging..... who leaDS TURBO ENGINES...AUDI

Also the Cayenne and the toureg liasion.... Porsche wants in so will buy it.

Whether or not Porsche kicks Audi's arse over spare parts availability remains to be seen, personally I aint holding my breath

There is also rumors that porsche wants to build little sports car based on golf, also reason for that - who can deny it to biggest shareholder?

wouldn't be the first collaboration between the 2 as it was VW and Porsche who jointly gave us the 914.A bit like marmite that one as it's my all time favorite car, and we've had the Porsche/Audi collaboration in the past with the RS2 which as we all know, gave us the best estate car ever made.
Even the RS4 and RS6 don't seem to have the rawness and drive-ability of the RS2.

i hope this will be good news, as all old porches you can get spare parts like old vw and beetles because we all know how audi have treated all the people who own old audi, a big thanks you to the likes of peter reeves and quattro corner and the likes who have kept both my cars on the road thanks but lets hope porche will do something, as i told the managing director of audi uk what the point of buying a new R8 that in 12 years time you cannot get parts for the car, maybe i am wrong but like me it is the likes of quattro corner and other people we all know a very big thanks for there parts thay have in stock to keep our old audi going
