Default Ideas on what to ask for my car please?

Hi all,

After a successful caravanning weekend i've taken the decision to part with my Audi and invest in a better van.

It's a 1985 1.8 coupe, carburettor (sp?) engine, 10 months MOT and about 5 months tax. Tornado red with 176k on the clock.

Box folder bursting with receipts and service history.

Bit of rust as always round the windscreen and a small amount on the wheel arches

Reg is worth a few quid I believe. C848 NAN

There are also spare body panels and engine parts that can go with it as now both our coupes are gone we have no need for them anymore.

Any advice or guide prices would be helpful, i totally love and adore the old boy but want to create memories with the family much more.

Thanks in advance

Best off posting some pics up so we can see the condition? I wouldn't imagine the reg to be worth silly money as it has 3 numbers, usually these are around £250 with all retention etc paid but you would have it for sale for a period of time if imagine.

What van ya getting?

yeah i don't think it's worth a massive amount but a bit extra towards a van would be helpful. I'll try and upload some pics shortly.

Not sure what kind of van we're going for. Preferrably a 5 berth with a bathroom as the one we have at the mo is a 1985 Swift Pirouette and previous owners removed the bathroom and we had to rebuild walls etc.

It was only ever a cheap van to see if we enjoyed it and we do, had the most amazing weekend so once Gene has gone we'll start some serious shopping around.

Just took a look in your album at pics of your car. Would be good to see bigger/more clear pics. Is it an aftermarket sunroof in it then?

from what i can gather the original owner paid extra at the factory for a glass sunroof to be fitted though i can't say that for absolute certain. A manual choke was also added some time after it was bought.

I know that there are only 8 of this model on the road in the UK and as far as I know all the others have the solid sunroof so this could be quite unique.

Sounds about right, my dads '83 ur was ordered without a sunroof and then in a typical 80's fashion an aftermarket glass sunroof was fitted. At first I though it detracted from it, however it is period 1980's modifications and it's how it was back then. Look forward to seeing some pics up!

Use photobucket or imageshack

Ok, i think (hope) this should link to the pics on photobucket. The pic of the wheel arch looking rather nasty, was taken before we filled and repainted
