Quite an ask...
I'd suggest that getting familiar with who is nearby, and taking the initiative might be a better way forward. You'll be surprise how much work/effort is needed, which is for nothing if people don't turn out. (Weather/technical/hangover) Finding an event that is happening might be a good focal point.

There is no dedicated person for organising events on here,so we are all responsible for the pro active side of such things. As Mark says,it is not an easy thing to organise other people who wont always be as enthusiastic as yourself and not always as reliable. But if you are passionate about organising a meet then go for it.You never know,it may be what the Midlands needs. Good luck if you decide to do it. To help i will start a thread to hopefully generate a response. |

Wasnt trying to pin blame or anything,
Just think it'll encourage projects that have lost steam and let people see our cars out and about a bit more. |

I would welcome a say quarterly local meet but not in a month of sundays would I expect an admin to set one up in my area if there wasn't an admin living close by.
I however would happily volunteer to arrange a venue around the Hampshire area. I know at least two other UR owners within 5 miles of me and doubtless many more such as Andya, Simmo, Tim C not too far away in either direction. Maybe it's time that the member map gets pinned on the homepage and updated again so volunteers can set about identifying groups of people close together who may want to meet?
