Right, I know I live in the stix, but WTF! Looking to embrace the modern age, get rid of the phone that is just that, just a phone, alright it has a camera on it.
Would be useful to have email access, scheduling app etc for work, but christ on a bike! Just looked up current iPhones and you're looking at a thousand fkn quid!?!?!?!!!! Are people bloody stupid? Or is everyone richer than me??! Who, or how, in the hell, would anyone justify a thousand quid on a phone? You could buy a new phone, PC, laptop and a digital SLR for a thousand quid these days! Is it a status thing, or have I missed something.... folks heads are up their aRs if they crave such things. Good lord holy Jehovah. |

Looks like you can get an iPhone 3, second hand, tested for less than £100. What one would you buy?

that much? really? never looked at the price as always managed to get them cheap through a business contract with O2 (although they get their money out of you by the size of the bill so it's all swings and roundabouts).

However, the other alternative is, get an iPad mini, so at least you have a decent sized screen and use a Nokia 6310 as your phone! My battery lasts 5 days!! |

That's what I use, old sony Ericsson, phone, you know, press numbers and it phones people.
that's a shock to the system! Looking at an ebay seller, has 2.5k transactions, has sold 56 of these for £1k each! Sticking address labels on wee boxes! I'm in the wrong game here. |

You're right the first time - people are stupid, so they can get convinced that they must have the latest and greatest brand name product, regardless of how simple their needs are.
I use a sony xperia u, which was the bottom of the range smartphone when I got it. I can do everything I need to do when I'm out and about on it, and the best bit is, it cost me £50, and now I own it, no big bill every month to finance it.
