Default Your annual running costs?

Hi,

I have worked out my costs for running the Audi 100 quattro for 1 year.

20000 miles
30mpg
average price of £1.05 / litre (super unleaded)
= £3178 fuel

MoT = £100
Brakes = £500
4 tyres = £225
Tax = £190
Insurance = £250
Other parts (oil, filters etc) = £200
Depreciation = £0 (paid £600, probably still worth £600)

subtotal = £1465

Total = £4643 = £0.23/mile or

23p / mile

If I had a newer car, the tax, MoT, tyres, brakes etc would cost the same, or more because of bigger tyres etc.

Bangernomics, don't ya luv it???

Default costs..

My costs less next year..(no big conversions to do)
V-power Fuel at 25mpg (Ha Ha!)present rates & 3000mile limit £115
Tax (6months only) £100
Classic Insurance £210
Annual service (plugs, oil filter, oil) around £100
Polishing and other cleaning materials -"- £75
This years upgrades (chargecooler, 2.75" exhaust etc) £700

Total £1300
so around 43p/mile
Should be less after next year as no further upgrades planned though a hunt for spares to keep the old girl on the road will no doubt start in ernest....

Sorry Pimp, nicked your template!

19256 miles ( business )
25mpg avg
average price of £1.00 / litre ( Optimax )
= £ 3500

MoT = £50
Brakes = £200
4 tyres = £500
Tax = £210
Insurance = £310
Other parts (oil, filters, bits n bobs etc) = £200
Depreciation = £0 ( probably still get near enough what I paid when / if I sell )

subtotal = £1470

Total = £3500 + £1470 = £0.26/mile

So 26pp/mile

Not too bad for a big lumbering estate.

Sorry Pimp, Nige is a 'Master' at thread drift.

You know the best thing about bangernomics, you can drive what you want to drive and know that it aint costing you a fortune. That gives you a little smile on the M6 when Mr 5 series comes up behind you and thinks, get out of the way boy in your P reg nail. So,......you give the throttle a quick kick to the floor, all hell breaks loose and before you can blink you're 250yds further up the fastlane with him floundering in your wake. Love it....and she's in at PSI Tuning next week for another few 'little mods' 300bhp+ ................could be if we're lucky and all for 29 pence per mile.

The thing is, you go to a main dealers and by a new / nearly new motor, lets say for arguments sake 15k and even with a couple of grand deposit / trade in, and hey presto your on 250 quid a month finance for at least three years, thank you very much. Then your cost per mile starts to look a bit top heavy.
