Any recommendations for new front shock inserts? I can't find the thread which had links to various suppliers. I don't want to spend too much and I don't want anything too fancy - just suitable for a 1982 200 Turbo...

I got mine from GSF - just the basic oil jobs - fine for the 5E (even with the AVO springs) but i'd suggest using something a bit firmer on the 5T. I looked at Bilsteins from motorsportworld.com - but a bit far out of my budget at the time - with hindsight though...

Thanks for that - I may have done something bad... I bought two off eBay (clearance) for £20 - don't know what make but maybe I'll be pleasently suprised... Can't really bring myself to spend £200+ on them - must be better than the 26 year old ones on there at the moment. When you did yours did you find the original ones just filled with oil - ie without inserts? When I did my '86 coupe it was like this.

Hello Mate,
I changed my rears couple of months ago for my 85 coupe. Just be onto Euro Car Parts and for you car they have a couple of options. Bilstein £40.50 each plus vat or Anschler at £25.50 which I didnt think was bad espically for original Bilsteins Poopcoupe |

That is very good - thanks. I will wait and see what these cheapo ones are like I ordered. Sometimes clearance stuff can be pretty good - I've found that so far every bargain item I've bought has been genuine Audi! No one else seems to want it...

Quite a big repair - the A pillar - I'm sure it'll be worth the wait!
Think I may have to do a photo record of my suspension overhaul and then bore everyone with it - hahaha! |
