May be he isn't as stupid as he seems, done correctly and he has just got a cut in globally syndicated news item.

A girl who was best friend of my GF was persuaded by her cousin ( freelance journalist) to concoct / sell the story of how she would shout Gary Owen whilst in the throe’s of intimacy. She was single at the time and it was at the start of the euro qualifiers around 2000. It was in the Sun and various other on line sources and she made about £2000.

It might not have been such an exciting press release to claim that he always planned to dig a ramp to the garage. Clearly he had thought about it - there was plenty of room for the excavation etc etc.
