Default My quad-light GT5
Seller Type : Private
Vehicle Make : Audi
Vehicle Model : GT5S
Price : £1300
Location : Birmingham
Additional Details : V5C (Logbook),Taxed,MOT'd

I think I'm selling my '82 Coupe.

It's a great car and I really do love it to pieces but my habit of changing cars won't die so I'm after another.

She's done 74,000 miles with extensive history to prove. I'm the 4th owner (the chap I bought it from had it for a few weeks and bought it off the original owners husband).

Refurbed alloys with 4 new Vredestein HiTracs; Coxyified paintwork with regular applications of Dodo Juice; Weber carb fitted; new cambelt and water pump; original period Pioneer radio (actually, its the one the original owner had in the 80 she p/x'ed, according to the bill of sale!); really solid underneath; all round a brilliant car and obviously with a five-pot soundtrack.

The interior is the only let down. The rear carpet has faded much more than the front and consequently is pale orange rather than blue. I do have some carpet dye which will go with it though. Bolsters on both front seats are worn through. I had intended to have these done in co-ordinating blue leather but finances and time have counted against me.

Everything works with the exception of the electric aeriel.

I know that I'm going to regret this as I'll never find another but I can't help getting itchy...

I know what I paid for her and how much I've spent on her on imrovements (not just service items) so I do feel the price is there or thereabouts.

These really are brilliant daily-driver classics which will happily cruise at 80mph all day and still give you well over 35mpg. But then most of you know that.

PM me or call on 07515 028 529.

Cheers,
Nick

DON'T DO IT NICK. You'll really regret selling her mate. What you going to buy if you do do the dirty deed? Another classic Audi I hope.

I have to agree with Baggee here Nick. I've not even seen her in the flesh yet and you're gonna be getting rid??

If I had the space and the cash I would be kicking your door down for her to keep mine company but alas

I know I'll regret Chris but I don't have space nor money for more than one car. As to replacement I'm sure I'll get abuse over it but I used to have a Merc W124 wagon and am hankering after another. I sold the previous one for all the wrong reasons so it feels like unfinished business...

I know, I know. Like you though fella, I don't have the space or dosh and scratches need itching... I am aware that I'm shooting myself in the foot but given that I haven't won the lottery (maybe I should start doing it?) 1 car at a time it must be...

I hate to say this but is history repeating itself here?

The only reason I sold the Merc was due to it's lack of economy on my town commute which is irrelevent now as I use my '68 Vespa.

Well we'll be losing a memeber of the five potters then Nick lol. Have you thought about putting her into storage for a few months just to see if you miss the old gal. Coxy has the facilities. However if its a case of needing the cash to fund the other motor then you have very little choice. Think long and hard grasshopper. As you said. This might be another case of unfinished business.

You and I Chris need to orchestrate a campaign to stop this misdemeanour taking place

We could call it the "Wake Up To Yourself Snorky" campaign

Think you're right there Martyn. Its a shame coz I know Nick has put a lot of time and effort into the car so far. Still he's young and not as wise as us old birds lol. and I bet there is not a forum like this for the Merc
