Default Audi 100 Quattro Petrol Tank Replacement

the petrol tank on my barginous Audi 100 S4 is a gonner, it wont hold over a quater of a tank and then its fumes all the way so the petrol evaporats.

ive sourced a second hand tank but the local gaurages are quoting a min of 600 and a max of 800 to do the work. which I cant afford.

aparently the cost is due to having to remove all the rear quattro system that the tank sits over.

so what do I do???

cut my losses and sell it on or save to repair??

Dan

Oh my GOD That's just amazing...

Three things u can doo:
1) Pay this enourmous price
2) Change it by yourself, there isn't any kind of rocket engineering
3) On holydays visit eastern europe, there work would pay 50-200, depending on garage and location

LMAO!!

sorry..... this is exactly what happened to mine after I hit a road drain clamp... I have taken the liberty of pasting this thread to Phil Payne who is found on the quattroforum.com who maybe interested in helping you out.

Phil came up to Scotland and with 2 other friends changed the tank in my driveway, so dont panic just yet, there is a way out of this that wont break your bank account.

Yes, the rear suspension and diff was dropped to get to the tank then all replaced and not spilt a drop since.

Oh I got my local bodyshop to refurbish the tank for me first to protect it for another chapter in the car's life.
