Back when I was doing such things, my US lawyer lived in Ann Arbor. He's now so rich he lives in Naples, FL - but I digress.

One day we went to the American Society of Model Engineers' exhibition in Detroit. There were things like this all over the place. They use photographic enlarger stands and drive cut-down Dremel tools using a PC.

My brothers into all this stuff, model planes and nitro powered helicopters.
Latest one for him is building a gas turbine with 20 pounds of thrust, for god knows what he slap that on.
