Simple question here

Can you change an auto to manual ?? It would be quattro aswell if that makes a differance.

Easy job ?
Cheap job via a garage ?
Seen a couple of cars for sale but they are auto, so i was thinking about this

Cheers

My First question always when I see this is "How Good are you with a spanner??"

Its quite an undertaking and not for the faint hearted, however that said, it can be done and done successfully.

You would need to locate a suitable manual donor - ideally a manual car that way all the parts are there to swap, and you can take plenty of photographs of how the manual is set up in situ. The only thing I'm not sure of is - if its a new car, how does it affect the autobox ECU? Earlier Audis, yes you can swap including flywheel and fit a new clutch whislt you are there, then it a matter of swapping all across to the Auto car. Make sure you have a plentiful supply of trolly jacks, wooden blocks, 19, 17, 15, & 13 mm spanners to hand along with a few medium breaker bars (Just in case) then disconnect the battery (s) and go for it.

Take your time and don't go trying to be a Mclaren pit crew member as it will only lead to tears and once done Enjoy!!

Good Luck!
