I've never seen one over here, and they're fairly scarce over there too. Your best bet is a Mk1 Polo which is the same car that pretty much superseded it.

There's a few for same on our club http://www.mk1polo.com

I remember seeing the Audi version , Audi 50, possibly late 1970s, in silver .... I worked with a chap who had the Polo version - two in fact ( red iirc and then a silver ).

I would have though 1200 euros was not too bad-- depending on the real condition of course.

I saw a Polo 'X' reg in Camberley about a year ago ( very close to the Camberley Audi showroom and it was looking in good condtion, driven by a young guy and looked standard aprt from some wide-ish wheels on it.
I understand parts are like hen's teeth..............

that's been about the going price for these for the past 5 years now.

Cheapest option, find a good early chrome bumper MK1 Polo and stick and Audi badge on it! Job done! No one would know the difference!

pretty much. The Audi 50 is basically a rebadged Mk1 Polo.
It started out as an Audi but Audi dropped it from the range as they wanted to get away from the small car market. It was sold for the first year as an Audi 50 and from then on it was sold as the Polo.

I have to correct Coxy on this one - the Audi 50 actually came BEFORE the Polo, but it was so expensive that sales were poor. Someone at VAG decided it might sell better badged as a VW with cheaper interior materials, and the rest is history....
