UrQ pre-1985

Hi there,

This is Bram. Some people might know me already from the S2forum.
Actually I am looking for an UrQ with the LHD wipers position (IIRC on pre-1985 models), so it makes it easier to convert it to LHD.

Most importantly: the body needs to be hard and tidy. Color is less of an issue, just as the engine state. I can do most mechanical work myself and have another engine waiting.

Left hand wipers were only on the very early cars up to 1983 Model year. 1984 MY had right hand wipers, so you are looking for cars up to a Y plate.

OK, I have noticed some 1984 cars have left hand wipers too. Must be the very early 1984 models then.

Yes, you're right Sir, it was cars made prior to the 1984 BU (build year) that carried LHD wipers. The 1983 works build year ran from September '82 to August '83, so as you say, by the time some cars reached the UK and point of sale the UK vehicle licencing was quite a way into 'A' plate cars.
