In my experience, almost all requests for engine tweaks come from people with under-performing engines or ECUs in limp home mode, and almost all brake upgrade requests come from people with underperforming brake systems. Audi are pretty good engineers and the TueV won't let anything substandard onto the road - unless you're involved in some kind of motorsport it's usually more than enough to get it to do what it says on the tin.

280mm front and 256mm rears certainly brought mine upto modern day performance so less worried when someone in front brakes sharply pushing the standard Cq brakes to the limit. Have an article on the upgrade from VW Audi driver if you PM e-mail address..

Yeah, but 300bhp surpasses most modern day stuff, you left that bit out!

The kv is quite slow and doesn't have an ecu the brakes in general are perfectly good in standard form with 136bhp the best mod to mine was replace the flexi hoses that made a world of difference on oe discs and pads that was better than new discs and pads all round!

The KV has better throttle response than any ur-quattro engine.

The KV's equivalent of the limp home problem is the vacuum unit on the distributor. I reckon as many as a fifth in the UK have leaky diaphragms. It's getting hard to find a car - turbo or not - that passes the MityVac tests.

I don't think i'll get 300bhp from the 2.2 but if you reckon the original brakes are good when working right , that should be good enough. As i believe the engine is not easily tuneable??
P.S. thanks for quick replies.

changing from rubber to flexi stainless brake lines will make abit of difference. I'm selling a full EBC brake setup thats virtually brand new. Discs and pads all round. £150+postage, cost £227 posted but been sat in boxes!
