Problem turned out to be part 27. It was swollen and stiff on the ball.
As I didn’t have another to hand, a Dremel with a small head was used to grind out lots of the swollen part until the ball was looser. Gear changes now back to normal! Will still replace the nylon part sometime, but no rush.
