Default B4 Cabriolet G60 calliper brake upgrade question

I have seen that the 2.8 V6 Cabs had the G60 twinpot callipers and am keen to add these to my non-V6 model to improve the stopping power (Brakes, or lack of them, are a little scary)

I have found some new G60 callipers, but they don't come with the carriers. Does anyone know if the existing carriers will work or if they must be the matching carriers?

Many thanks,

Default G60 Brake Caliper Upgrade

Hi,

I have a 90 20V which also uses the Girling G60 calipers and carriers and the S2 uses the same ones too. Yes you do need these specific carriers to go with the G60 calipers.
A while ago I bought a set from someone on here in case my car needed the calipers
replacing. They have been in the garage since and I no longer need them.
I was going to list the set on ebay but haven't got round to it.

So if you're interested I'll sell the set for £150 which is what I paid. It is for LH and RH G60 twin pot calipers and carriers.
Let me know if you're interested (or not).

Regards,
Kelvin

Be aware you will most likely need new discs as well, the single caliper cars have 280mm x 22mm discs whereas the G60 equiped cars use a 276mm x 25mm disc, make sure you get the correct hat height as well 56.5 not the 52.5 which are for the 90 20v models with the G60 calipers. (narrower track).

Yes G60 twin piston discs are slighty smaller diameter than single piston discs.
