Far Eastern Audi's...

spotted this over on RR. Interesting!

I was aware that the blossoming Chinese car industry like to use older designs from western makers (with or without their permission!) to speed up development of new models. I've seen some of the older examples, but these are new ones on me!

Audi 100 Police Executive Limo, and Avant (which I'm sure we didn't get)

One thing that is interesting on that side, it says the 1781cc engine used in the Santana, and then the lower-spec Audis, is now in permenant production in China. Am I right in thinking that this is the original 1.8 K-Jetronic Golf GTI engine? I bet a brand new replacement from China is sod-all money
