Ok cool
I didn't mean to piss anyone off with my conclusion. Not atall Just think you have to be crazy to pay that kinda money for many of the escorts or sierras you see. Especially when you see what kinda classic Audi for that money! If my KK was a XR3i in that condition, it would be allot more than what I paid for tbe Audi. Just doesent make sense to me |

It's just each to their own i guess, both points of view make sense and i don't think you peed anybody off, there are some Audi guys and gals on here that have Ford's too. Just move on from this, life's too short. |

I would wager that these Ford men you say think Audi is "shite" are younger people who've never driven an old Audi. If they had they cannot come to that conclusion. I can tell you from my own personal driving experience that although some of the old fords were nice cars, Cortina Mk5's, Last of the last XR3i's and the MK1 XR4 X 4, ok cars like the 2.0 ghia Sierras, orions, escorts, they just don't compare to Audi in terms of much better build quality and engineering prowess. Once an old ford was 5 years old it was waaaaay past it's best back then unlike an audi that still felt like new at 10 years old. I'm currently owning and driving 2 x URS6, 80 2.6 Avant, 80 2.8 Fe Cabriolet. Yes i like my old Fords, but for me the best bit about owning them is the "mostly" cheap brand new spares you can come across on eBay compared to Audi prices. Sadly owning an old Audi is an expensive pastime as parts are mostly silly prices or NLA. There are stashes of parts in peoples lofts etc for URS6 and other Audis but at least with Old Fords you can still get many new parts of eBay if you look constantly, which is a big plus for a car that is 30 plus years old.I know because i still look form time to time. |

What ur saying about the build etc and them being past their best quite quick, is exactly what im trying to say. Sort of get what you pay for,or the longevity you pay for (if u like)... As you say, cant fault ford for the parts availability either |
