You need to make sure car has Bluetooth, which is unlikely at that age, and iPhone may be too advanced even if it has.
2002 was the era of Nokia car kits with a cradle.....

There is a device/bit of kit, which was advertised in several up-market independents. Dension. It is a bit of behind the dash kit, that utilises an unused auxiliary channel if fitted. It may be worth looking into this.

Find out what system you have in the car. Then visit a dealer, or the website. It seemed like a good piece of kit, but it's not necessarily a cheap option. The other option is to bin the current kit, and buy an all singing, all dancing head unit from Kenwood/Alpine/Sony.

I wouldn't bother, get a Parrot or similar.
My piephone links straight away to my in car system n sat nav, the only down side is that it utilises the cars hifi speakers and so people outside the car can hear you....

Do you want to use your phone as a phone or music? If you want music and your headunit has front or rear aux/USB then you can get a lead. You can get a lead from connects2 that will do it or a unit that tunes into 88.1 fm and plays that way also charging your phone at the same time.
If you want it to do as a phone get a Parrot.

They've got some useful bits and pieces down at Halfords to sort you out. There are actually a couple of options for you but it's best to speak to one of the guys down there. However, if you go down the new unit route you'll save yourself a whole load of hassle and probably get a decent sounding bit of kit for not a whole lot of cash. They've got some discount vouchers over at http://www.voucherbox.co.uk/ which wil definitely save you a hefty wad if you decide on a new model. I'm just about to do the same to be honest. Vintage Audi/modern sound system - compromises must be made!
