Hopefully the new 80 owner will introduce themselves on here. They'll be most welcome
Hi Mike.

Yep...leaper is going. Shouldn't be on anything post '70s imo. Already have a bonnet badge ready to go on once I've removed the monstrosity and filled in the holes in my beautiful bonnet! 🙄

I'm sure he'll be on here in the not too distant future. Told him about you guys today when he came to get the car 👍

All the best Mike,
Alan

Smashing looking Jag and I understand why you swapped.
I am in the very fortunate position of being able to have my cake and eat it; or rather, have my Audi (B3 90 20v) and a rather nice E38 BMW 740 Sport that belonged to a friend who died very suddenly three years ago. We toss a coin to see which one we use for high days.
By the end of next month after a four year renovation, we'll have a 1937 Morris 8 to choose from as well.

Many thanks.

I'm kind of in the same position myself. Along with the XJ6, which is to be my daily driver (in reality, once or twice per week!), I count myself lucky to also own a lovely 1992 Mercedes 500SL, which is my baby. So good for those days when top down, 320bhp V8 goodness is the only thing that hits the spot. I've owned the SL since 2014. It wasn't any where near the car that it is now back then, but that's what makes it special to me.

Very much spoiled with these two.

Regards,
Alan

Thanks.

Always quite sad to see it being driven off by the new owner. At least this time, I know the guy, so will no doubt still be seeing the car every now and then.

I still have the photos though❤️....

Thanks.

Managed to have a bit better look at the car this morning between rain showers, and it's actually in remarkable condition. A handful of nuts and bolts around the front of the engine bay are looking a bit rusty, but that appears to be it. Amazing for a Jag, although this particular model, the X300, does seem to have a better reputation than most, especially in 3.2 straight-six guise. Happy chappy! 🙂

Regards,
Alan

Here's the photos from Glencoe guys, taken on Sunday.
One of the most beautiful places on the planet in my opinion, especially with a laden sky. Stunning.
