Default Curious options on cars. (Pics)

Saw this on the msn web page.

A Chevrolet Vega with a tent/canopy built into the hatchback.
Had to laugh. This was a controversial car in the US in the 70's.
They had trouble with the cylinder bores, requiring a sleave kit.
The GT variety, particularly 1972-73 were like a baby Camaro.
In 1975 Cosworth of England got involved and built a DOHC variety.
I've seen one of these black beauties campaigned in hillclimbs.
Perky for the vintage and small displacement.

These cars are very rare now. Especially in the Northeast. Salt bad. Thin steel bodies.
I love the look of the early GT tho'.

I think the 2.2 or 2.3? litre motor as set up in the Stinger was around 155hp. The car was under 2200 lbs. Probably pretty quick. I'm trying to collect up some better info.
