A nice car, plenty of space in the back for the occasional bit of tantric sex....

These are unbelievably good cars. Totally under-rated by those who haven't driven them. Highly rated by those who have. The last of the 'proper' Saabs before GM took over, I had a 2.3 'Anniversary' this time last year. This was it....

A lovely place to sit...

Between 50mph and 80mph, there aren't many cars that can touch the acceleration of these. Great cars, and I'd have another one, no problem.

When I had the chance to buy my Celica GT4 in July '13, I had the Saab, a 1989 B3, and a 1987 Nissan Sunny. I decided due to the thirsty nature of the Saab (26mpg), that would be the one to go first. The B3 and the Sunny went later in the year to fund my purchase of Timo's old B4 coupe.

I couldn't try and work out which car I favour most between the Byzanz and the GT4. I love them both a huge amount, and for once, when I say these are keepers, I really do believe they are.

What I will say is that the GT4 was an impulse purchase, whereas finding the right B4 Coupe has been something I have been trying to do for 20 years! I guess, taking that into account, if I had to get rid of one of them.....I'd be left with a purple car on the drive
