Default Geordie's recent cars

I took the Audi to a Nissan Primera Owners Club meet last Sunday...

..which I think raised a few quizzical eyebrows round these parts haha

To explain, I've had a long history of owning Japanese motors, so after I spent 8 years at Nissan making the front seats for the Primera, it wasn't surprising that about 5 years ago I bought myself a Primera GT when I was looking for a change from an oh so dull Vectra. It went from completely standard…

to being slightly modified…

This car won car of the month on NPOC in April 2010

http://www.npoc.co.uk/forum/april-20...opic39337.html

When I'd done as much as I wanted to with the black GT, I wanted another project, so I decided to be the first in the to modify a Primera wagon (estate). I found a good, standard one…

and on I went, sourcing and importing loads of JDM goodies like rear lights, wind deflectors and rear tailgate spoiler. Other stuff like the one off modified front bumper and plasma dials (only ones in UK) made this a really unique motor…

…and this car won Car of the Month in August 2012

Often under-rated, and joked of as being a taxi, the Primera really is a very decent car. It's BTCC winning pedigree proves there was something right about it's chassis and SR20 lump.

Other recent Nissans I've had are…

1990 Nissan Sunny 1.8 ZX Coupe

1985 Nissan Sunny 1.5 SGL

1987 Nissan Sunny 1.3 LX

A Sunny day……

In the last couple of years, I've also had this 1995 Rover Tomcat….

….a tatty 3rd Gen Honda Prelude…..

……..this lovely Saab 9000…..

……and this B3…

Alongside my B4 coupe, this is my other current motor, a Toyota Celica GT4-RC. One of 1800 homologation road going rally cars made for the Japanese market so it could enter the WRC 1992 (which it won!)….permanent 4 wheel drive….235 bhp…awesome handling…a brute…

Do you know what the really sad part about the thread opening picture is?
(and this is a compliment)....

A local Nissan Primera Owners Club can rustle up six cars on a November weekend yet if Someone was to arrange a pub meet here in Sussex for all models of classic Audis, no bugger would turn up.

Well done on a superb history, dedication and enthusiasm... And well done to the guys at the Nissan Primera Owners Club for their enthusiasm too... Its a credit to them.

Who remembers the ad for these when they were new? A spoof on Carter and Regan in the Sweenie.

"Get a move on George!"

"I'm doin' nearly ferty!"

"Shaadup!!"

Brilliant!

I still organise the NE regional meets for the NPOC, even though I don't own one anymore. We get together in the Spring and Autumn usually, with an extra meet in York in January, which this year attracted members from 9 counties! It's one of those clubs that people don't leave. Good people, good craik. I've been in a lot of clubs over the years, and can honestly say there are only three that are as good as the NPOC, which are the Celica Club UK, UKSaabs and this one.

there's only one decent looking car there, but then i'm biased.

glad to see that you've finally some got good taste after that long period of shame in your life ..

Nissan Sunny ZX Coupe is the pick of the bunch for me with the GT4 a close second. A very very nice GT4 went through SWVA (auctions) about 3 weeks ago. I would have had a bid but was after the 106 rallye which was going through later on (and I didn't get!)

Don't get the Primera thing sorry, even though yours does look nice!
I would rock a Stagea RS4 though and so nearly bought one when looking for a fast slipper wagon but head ruled heart and I got the Legacy Outback 3.0rn instead.
