That looks great. Nicely chosen mods.

Would either of the aforementioned kits fit my '82 Coupe? I don't think I'd want it as low as 60mm; but a 40mm is desirable. Only thing confusing me: aren't they torsion beam suspension on the rear? How would one lower that? I know fronts are coilovers, naturally!

Cheers,

Matt

was a bit of a mission to change the springs. we did the shox whilst we were at it. AFAIK it's the same set up on my as it is on yours and I have a set of 45mm lowered springs which I was going to put on the CD but ended up going with th 60mm drop.

So you have coilovers all round then? Maybe I wasn't looking properly when I had the rear tyres changed the other day - swore I just saw shocks but I could be mistaken. You've got a diagonal link on the rear as well, right? If you went with the 60s; does that mean you have a set of 40s for sale, then? If it turns out that our sus is the same and it's a yes to my last question then what sort of money would you be looking for?

Sorry for so many questions to begin a week!!!

They're not coilovers. I got the Spax short shox for it all round.
On the front, we had to drop the suspension legs and let it drop down in order to change the springs and shox. On the rear, it was easier. Undo the top shock mount bolts in the boot, and undo the bottom bolt and jack the car up. There was a bit more to it than that but that's the short version!
I do have a set of 45mm lowering springs which I haven't used which I bought from Germany earlier this year. Cost me 45eu plus 20 eu postage so you can have them for the same if you want.
Being from Germany they are TuV approved as well!

ok for the front, but I'm still not understanding where the 'sping' force is coming from on the rear if they're not coilover units (or just dampers with new springs)....Hoping not to sound to thick but can you explain this to me a bit please? I.e. where do the springs got on the back? Also, am I understanding correctly that I'd need to buy 4 short dampers to got with the (your) 40mm dropped springs or would the standard ones be ok?

Cheers again
