Default 83 B2 solid to vented front brakes conversion

Hi All. I am trying to get the brakes improved on my car. The fluid needs changing so whilst doing this I might as well upgrade the discs and pads. It is currently on a std setup. So I would like to put braided hoses and vented disks on it. If the budget can stretch some grooved ones and fast road pads.
I know I can get vented 239 disks that will go straight on so no great drama there. However these are thicker than the std solid disk. 12mm vs 20mm. Due to the extra thickness what pads can I fit? Anyone know or recommend anyone I can talk to who might know.

TIA

Thanks for the reply. As others have said finding information on brake conversions for the B2 is a little bit confusing when you have no knowledge.

So far I have gleaned that I will need bigger caliper carriers but the same size mounting holes for the B2 suspension leg. Do I need to change the caliper as well?

What cars can I get these off or can I buy off them off the shelf. Any info appreciated

Just buy pair of calipers. Just noticed in ETKA that there were two ventilated disc sizes for B2 - 239x20, most likely found on GTE, called Sport in UK, and 256x20, found on A90. Smaller stuff, I guess, must be direct fit, 5 pot stuff might be with 4x108 bolt pattern.

Hi Billy,

I am removing a set of calipers of my B2 quattro that you could use, my 4x108 discs will be no good to you though.
But you can buy Audi 80 Sport front discs which are vented and use them with my calipers. PM me if you are interested, they will be available in the next few weeks..
