Default B4 80 Release mechanism to boot lid?

During the night the boot lid has decided not to open with the centralised locking any longer.
I can only immagine it has to do with broken/stripped wires under the top, left boot lid hinge (again!)

Is there a mechanical release mechanism from the inside maybe?

Have had a look but am to inexperienced to understand where and what I'm looking for.

As I'm taking her to the Body Shop tomorrow it might be convenient to be able to open.

Thank you from Tanni

If its locked with the boot keyslot in the horizontal position it should open with the central locking, If its locked with the key in the vertical position the boot should stay locked when the other doors are opened.
p18 in the instruction manual if you've got one
hope this helps

ah, your question confuses me so I must have been vague in explaining my problem...

I've got an electrical, centralised locking on all 5 doors which is only activated with a normal turn-key-in-hole. It's not with a remote control key.

The electrical locking system works perfectly well on the other 4 doors and I can also hear the noise of the small engine on the boot lid but it stays locked.

So I thougt, like when you loose the key to the fuel tank lid, there would be a mechanical release mechanism somewhere?

will it open if you use the key hole in the bootlid? just to the right of the number plate.

I can see from your suggestions that I haven't explained the problem well.

I normally always use the key, in any of the 5 doors and then they all open at the same time. So that's why I think it's called electrical and centralised but maybe I'm using the wrong words?

I always use the key in the boot and it sounds like it's opening but it stays locked. The other doors open and close as normal.

This is what it looks like from inside the boot if it's open. Two in each side.

Agree Sam unless the B4 happens to a 1.6 or 1.6SE saloon, the folding seat was an option, my old 1.6SE had a steel bulkhead behind the rear seat.
