No, you need oil pressure sender and oil temp sender, unless your engine already have these, which is quite unlikely, presuming your car didn't had gauges fitted in the past and/or engine swapped.

it's a standard audi 90 quattro with the 7A (20v) engine. that's right - the car doesn't have the gauges fitted (only the coupe had them i think) so i only need the oil pressure and oil temperature senders then?

Oh yes. Oil pressure sender will fit from basically anything, any B3, B4, C3, C4 engine, oil temp sender, I guess, will fit only from 5 pot engine.

Yep the oil pressure sender is common to all the engines (4 clyinders to v6's) and will swap out the lower of the two pressure switches, as the sender until will control the gauge and also be the lower oil pressure switch too. The oil temp is a little harder as they are different for 5 clyinders and think they are maybe even different between 10 and 20v's. The oil temp switch is at the front of the block (drivers side) and bolts into the oil pump.

If you are lucky one of the switches may already be there. The 20v I had the oil temp switch was there and have heard of folk having the pressure sender already installed too, obviously the coupe/sport had them as standard so some slipped through the net at the factory?

To get to swap out the oil pressure switch is a bit of a pig on the 7A depending on which way the swithes are around. Think it is easier to go in from the bottom.

I will keep a look out for you for the parts you need.
