Default Castle Combe Sprint today

I had an hour or two spare this afternoon, so decided to have a dodge over to Castle Combe to hopefully catch some action in the Bristol Motor Club's 'Great Western Sprint' - http://www.bristolmc.org.uk/Pre-even...print_regs.htm

I had just parked in the paddock and wandered over to the start line, so was well-chuffed to see the mucho-modified Dialynx 80q and as well as Tim's rally rep lined up ready to give it some beans away from the start line

Fark me, that 80 is quick! Tim later told me that it runs well over 400bhp, all from a 1.4 turbo revving at up to 11000rpm It's been sleeved down to 1.4 (from 1.8) to be compliant with the regs for cars fitted with a turbo. 20 seconds per lap quicker than the ur....

It was good to meet and have a chat with Tim too, and to admire the ur

There was an eclectic mix of entries, from Minis through to full-bifta single-seaters, with all sorts of cars in between. All in all, a bloody good couple of hours - and entry was free too!

Here's a few pics.....

It was good to meet you today Alan, thanks for popping over for a chat.
Turned out to be a good day, the weather held and it stayed dry.

I got a look at the times after we spoke and we ended up 14 seconds behind Keith's 80!
In our defence, that was over nearly 2 laps, not 1. But that doesn't take away from quick and impressive Keith's car is.
