Exactly, which is why I don't understand why so many on here slate a car off as someone has modified something. Don't get me wrong some cars looks ridiculous but the owner of it must of liked it, trip to specsavers may be due but each to there own. I'm sure a lot of the ones who do pick at cars on here have been guilty of modifying themselves in the past. It's just a part of maturing! I'm sure there elders thought there sons capri's etc looked crap!

Modifying a car for me meant a K&N filter and a set of alloys. Nowadays putting an Audi V8 into the front of a golf or similar seems to be the sort of thing to do. Whatever an individuals personal opinion might be, you gotta admire the level of skill and effort that goes into some of these projects.

That's, it some people feel there's no barriers and just go for it! I would love to have time, skills and space to do something crazy like that! Look at Tonks's cars or hamish's. The amount of time and skill that goes into those cars is unbelievable! Having deep pockets also helps something else I don't have!
You can get the right sort of results with bolt on stuff like my Passat, it's just getting the right mix of parts and not scrimping! I think to build an identical car to mine would set you back around £15k!

Time, skill and deep pockets yes, but also energy which tends to dwindle as you get older without you really noticing it. Was a time I'd happily work till 2am to achieve my goal, even in the winter. Nowadays in the winter evenings it's Midsomer Murders and comfy sllppers.Oh dear.

Ha ha!! I've got a 1 year old so free time is at a premium! I work 12 hour shifts at Rolls-Royce, days, nights, weekends the lot and when I'm not working its then daddy daycare so getting time to enjoy the Passat or work on the 90 is a rare thing!
The joys!! Ha ha

I still think it looks shit. I'm not adverse to a bit of tasteful modification though.
I do think though that that much "lows" wont be doing that Audi any good. Each to there own. |
