Default Is this the ignition amp? Audi 100 turbo

Just bought a 100 turbo that has no spark and have been told by the seller that this part was diagnosed as the problem.

Is it the ignition amp? bolts onto the coil at the back of the bay. If so does anyone know the part number.
Thanks for your help

Diagnosing 'no spark' on a 100 turbo is not a simple process and the ignition power stage (which you picture) is almost never the cause.

You can't buy it separately - you never could. It comes with the coil pack and the part number is VIN-sensitive so we'll need the VIN number.

If indeed thatt is the problem, which would surprise me.

Thanks for your help. I'll find the Vin later.
I assume there is a process I can go through to check the components? I'm fairly handy with a multimeter

A multimeter will be no help. You need to pull the codes first.

fault code thing in here

a verrrry long way to say, get a test lamp or l.e.d. on a couple of wires and a paper clip as a 'jumper' wire.

read on and have fun..!
