Default Injectors

Hi Guys.
How much work is involved in changing the injectors on a coupe 5 cylinder , 2.3e ?
Just had the tappets done at the garage , I should have got them to change the injectors at the same time
How long should injectors last ? The car has done 148000 miles.
Thanks

It's not too bad, 2.3 E is an NG engine yes ? Top of the inlet manifold off (just allen bolts) and then you have access to the injector retaining bracket (2 bolts), remove that, withdraw the injectors and undo them then put new one's in with new O rings too, do them one at a time.

I did mine when i did the cylinder head........Enjoy.

Possibly, but i just pulled them out and pushed them back in with my hand, don't worry if a plastic sleeve comes out as they just click back in easily too, you can do it !

Thanks Sinbin.

A friend had a listen to my car today and said it might be the distributor causing the problem.
The problem is that on tick over the engine does just idle at 900rpm it goes up and down slightly.
Also if you keep the revs at about 2000 the engine starts to not run smooth.
Its not drastic just more of a pain.
How often should the injectors be cleaned changed ? Mine have done 148000 miles.
Also the distributor shaft has got some up and down movement in it ( I would say just under 1/4" movement ). Is this normal ?

Probably the easiest thing is to test the injectors, leave them attached to the fuel lines and put them in small plastic bottles (coke bottle size), prime them and see if they all deliver the same amount of fuel and if the spray pattern is good.
Explaining things is not one of my strong points but other guys will come along and explain more clearly.
As for the distributor shaft i honestly don't know.
