Default No more old Audis.....

.....thats it! Sense of humour failure.

Taking the dog to the vets this afternoon and noticed that the gear changes from the autobox were over-revving on the changes. The symptom steadily got worse and by the time I was ready to start off for home, I realised that the car would probably NOT make it up a very steep and winding hill about 2 miles from home. At that stage I had a large articulated lorry following me so diverted enroute to my local mechanic/engineer.

Managed to organise a lift home as he had to deliver a car back to the village ( very fortuitous ) and after a few phone calls , I'm looking at a possible bill of about £1500+VAT for the box to be re-built.

On the plus side I have managed to drive this car and done about 500 miles in it which is an improvement of the Audi 80 Sport which did about 20 miles while being towed here, there, and everywhere.

Off to the KIA dealer tomorrow I think!!!

Shame cos its a super looking car......

Same with my dads! Bought it for £2850, used it for a year done 12000 miles in it (trouble free!) and sold it on for £2850!

Would it not be viable to get a secondhand gearbox?
