Thumbs up 100 Fans At Full Tilt... Sometimes

After picking up my Avant, there were a few small problems but it was to be expected.
The one thing I can't figure out is why my fans sometimes get stuck on. Occasionally when I start the car with the fan set to 0 or 1 it'll stay at that speed unless I touch it. Then randomly they'll turn right on again when Im driving.

Wandering if this could be related to my temp needle never getting past more than 1/6th of the way up the gauge. How do I go about sorting the fans...they're really starting to bug me now

you mean interior heater fan?

On the B4 80, it is the heater resistor pack.

Google "heater resistor repair" or read this thread:

Thanks for the info, that's been a real help. I'll have a bash at getting the resistor pack out of the car tomorrow and go from there.
