Default A6 C4 2.5 TDI AEL - remote +ve battery connection

Hi all...hoping someone can help...
I have a 1996 A6 C4 2.5 TDI with aircon
Battery is under rear seat but Haynes manual refers to remote positive connection under plastic cover in engine compartment.
Can someone help me locate this as I’ve so far drawn a blank and am left scratching my head! What should it look like?

Likely a small square cover with a + embossed on it, probably near the engine cover or one of the strut tops.

Thanks John but I can’t see anything like that. Do you happen to have a photo? This is what my car looks like...

Following main starter cable might lead you to it?

Sorry I don't have a photo, I've looked at Haynes manual...…..engine bay pic shows battery at N/S scuttle ??

Where does it refer to remote point?

You'll not find that in a rhd car unfortunately.

It was only fitted to lhd cars

I have my doubts if it'll actually have a remote jump start point?

Mike got there first.

The only time I had to jump our C4 A6 Avant q Tdi (16 year ago!), it had to be direct onto the battery under the rear seat.

Thanks everyone for your replies...my Haynes manual was the source of this misinformation so those who have suggested only LHD cars with aicon and the battery under the rear seat had a remote +ve battery terminal under the bonnet are right.

Sadly, true. Having been so accustomed to having the spare terminals on the V8, I spent ages wandering around the engine bay, wondering where It was hiding on the 100.
