Default Off to new pastures...

Just wanted to drop by one last time, to say my good-byes.

This immaculate XJ6 came up, and I couldn't turn it down. It's got the auto transmission, which is much better for my crumbling back and dodgy knee!

I had intended on putting an ad up on the forum, but a friend has whipped it off me before I got the chance. At least I know it's went to someone who will look after the car well. He's a top bloke who loves his older motors, so hopefully you'll welcome him as you did me.

I feel I've barely got to know some of you, but the help and encouragement received has been invaluable in getting my lovely 2.6 B4 Saloon to where she is now, and I can't thank you enough for that.

All the best,
Alan

Hi John.

Yes, straight six, 3.2 litre. Lovely car, but only driven it about a mile and a half to my Mum's driveway. Currently sorned, but insured FC for £123...amazing! Goes on the road proper on Sunday, so the wife and I will be off up to Glencoe or the like. Anywhere at all to get out of the house!

Interior looks like a nice place to be although my eyes are drawn to the floor mats!

A friends Dad had a few Jags back in the late 80's and I remember thinking they were something special, now(new) they're just another car.

Looks like a very nice example you have there, 6 cylinder means room for the DIY mechanic to see what they're doing!

Enjoy Glencoe, regardless of weather it'll be a good run.

Ha ha....yeah, they're a little, shall we say...bright! When I saw the red mats in the advert photos, I thought the same. I actually had new mats before the car arrived! 😂

The new ones are charcoal grey, which are much better suited to our British weather, especially at this time of the year. 👍

Hi Ben.

Thanks. I love the colour too. Carnival red.

I'll certainly pop my head through the door every now and then (if I'm still welcome, being a defector!&#128580 and will be happy to report on the car's progress....unless it keeps breaking down right, left and centre! 😁🤔🤭

I shouldn't tempt fate! Again!!

Cheers,
Alan

😁 Never do a run without taking a photo or 10 John.

After some further thought, we'll probably head to Glenshee instead. Just as beautiful, but further away from the worst affected Covid hotspots!

Enjoy the Jag - please lose the leaper off the bonnet.

Hopefully the new 80 owner will introduce themselves on here. They'll be most welcome
