aye, the big fella was a super chap. turns out it was lymphoma and he never let on to any of us. i text him on monday night when i missed the last train home from glasgow to ask his advice on an alternative and he replied, "f**k the train, grab a bottle of wine and come up to the ward and stay over!!"

that's the kind of chap he was. lots of "oh i've got something in my eye" going on at the station today . .what a shame.

thanks for your thoughts, folks - the big chap would have appreciated it.

Sorry to hear that, always seems to be the good one's that go first, very sad indeed. My condolences to his family and friends

He always said that he wouldn't see 40 - i'm glad he was wrong even if it was just by a year. We had some wild adventures - things that would make your toes curl. Great memories and a real One Off.
