Talking Oil Temperature Sensor

Hi All,

I am after a replacement oil temperature sensor, or a way of stopping one leaking.

The one I have leaks through the center, and do not know (without draining oil and taking it apart) how to stop the leak.

Red face

I have never had the sensor out so I do not know, but the leak has been there for over 15 years now, and I am someone that like ths engine to stay clean so pressure wash the old oil marks away.

I would give pete reeves a call at http://www.quattrocorner.com/, He will either have the part in stock or will get it for the next day and on top of that it will be the correct part. (he doesnt just look after us quattro owners you know)

He's a good chap with time for all audi owners - i can highly recommend him.

Hi Matt,

Thank you for that, I have just had a look at his site and I could possibly spend a fortune with him looking at the list of ex-dealship stock he has had come in.

Thanks once again for the help and advice.

have you spoken to your local gsf? the senders are usually fairly standard accross the vag range and the oil leaking through the centre is a common prob. they will prob just ask you if it has a black or white plastic bit surrounding the electrical terminal.

Hi Rapidresto,

I went to them and Mills Auto, both asked me the same question and ehded up get me the oil pressure sensor, not the temperature sensor

Other than this oil leak, the leak round the drain bolt (which I have a new washer for) the engine is sound and has just done 170k.

Any help on this matter will still be greatly recieved.

Till next time.
