Its leaking - badly!

This rack has already had a seal kit on it - unfortunately the kit does not cover every seal that is in the rack and i suspect it is one that i could not replace.

Ah yes! - I've used that on my A4 - It made a massive difference and really quietened down the squeeky steering - however, I don't think it will work on the WR - apparently it can lose the contents of the reservoir in 3 days and that is without the car moving!!

Had a quote for £125 to get it TOTALLY refurbished

Incidentally, I bought a spare rack a few years ago and it came off a 84WR - but it had a 811 part number - obviously my WR has 857 number - anybody know what the differences are?

Sorry A1 - only just seen this......

I find it odd that the rack from my WR is an 857 number which is correct) - and that is specific to the car - however, i do have a rack from a 86 coupe and it looks identical to the WRs rack but with a different audi number - there are also differences in manufacturers part numbers on the castings.

Do you think they work at different pressures? - after all If they were the same item surely they would both have the same number?
