Good luck with your search

I missed out on one 32 years ago, figured I'd better get one in my life and save a pretty special car before it was too late. For the car that is, I'm not that old! 😳

Hope so. I'm not overly bothered if it's MOT'd tbh as up for restoring one. As you say, more concerned that it's complete and all the bits of trim are there

I hope all goes well with your search. As others have said, it is mainly that there are so few about now. But if you are willing to restore, that improves things a good deal.

BTW, I think I missed one or too in the 1980s myself...my print dirtied hands clutching an Exchange and Mart within a stale smelling phonebox...thumbling the coins in as the phone was answered: "Have you still got the Audi for sale"?

For weeks my cash and a cheap enough example never seemed to coincide....impatient I bought something else. Mind I was very happy with the type 44 base model Avant I got instead.

Ah, the venerable Type 43. I've had my fair share of those rear cars, I wish I still had them!

1979 100 5S 2144 carburettor, 4-speed manual.
1983 100 5E 2144 K-Jetronic, 4+E manual.
1983 200 5T 2144 K-Jetronic, 3-speed automatic.

I did a 5-speed manual swap on the 200 5T.
