Default Ur quattro Fuel Injector Seals

Hi all,

Any advice on changing the injector seals on an MB quattro please?

Looked on Mr Payne's website for a documented procedure, to no avail.

Thanks in advance

Best to take the injectors out the head. There's a CIS tool although it's not that great to use. search for CIS injector puller

Watch you don't break the plastic inserts and ensure the shrouds don't fall in

I use a open ended spanner about 12/13mm maybe (behind the fuel line connection, is it 14mm?) then stick something else in as a fulcrum the lever them and out, sounds rough but it's not really as long as you apply the force in the same alignment as they went in!

13mm spanner then a screw driver as a lever behind the spanner, got them out easily that way on the 5T, but if you rush it you can snap the fuel line connector for the injector

With Missfire (same school of midbutchery?)

Leave the injectors connected.
Open ended spanner, big enough to go around the shaft of the injector, small enough to get a grip behind the nut on the line.
Piece of wood to act as a fulcrum.

If the seals are old (presuming same setup as WR), then they won't be so forgiving.

Getting a good position so that you push out straight, instead of too much sideways is a big plus.

Other useful items to have
Ibuprofen
Bandages
Kitty litter for leaked fluids, like blood
Elastoplast
Super glue (for really big holes in personnel)

Remind me never to hold onto something while you hit it with a hammer....

Default when you nods yer 'ead, i'll 'it it...

The problem, Tony, is not the hitting it with the hammer part. It's the failure to hit it, while accurately hitting something else.
