Them ten spokes!
You know i'm partial to a B4, especially in estate form, so well done on that score!

By all means get it cleaned up and take out the strange smell you mention???? don't like the sound of that, but leave the car looking as it left the factory. Or....... if your going to put 16" wheels on it how about 16" cabriolet wheels so you can get some decent condoms on there!

So.........big man, what are your plans or what are you going to do with it?

You selling the RS2r to make way for the addition to the fleet?

Plans are to scrub it up from top to toe(this may take considerable time?!) and then get it MOT'd...........then it'll sit at my father-in-laws yard, and I might use it........or I might not, haven't really got a plan after the MOT bit!
Regards wheels they'll stay as they are/

Nah......I'd never use CC on the roads around here. You could add CC and 16" wheels if you like.........can meet you at the airport!

I'm wondering if Andy has played about with the turbo??......why would you want a boost gauge on a tdi ?

Took the timing belt cover off and could still see the brand (DAYCO) name on the belt so I suspect it's been replaced recently although car has only done 10 miles since last MOT in Oct '15..........I'd planned on doing belt but not really wanting to make work for myself.

i have enough cars already son! Your nuts, what did you buy it for if your not going to use it? I thought perhaps you bought this as your mentioned selling the RS2r, ref the recent mention on the forum, and bought this as it's replacement when Hunnanan buys it.

You driven it yet? Perhaps you can tell us if Andy has played with the turbo.

Boost gauge was just for diagnostics, never took it out.

Timing belt was done 27/09/2014, belt, water pump, tensioner, idler, intermediate shaft seal and the big crank pulley damper.

Timing was set mechanically, it should be checked in VAG COM (I think my laptop was broken and as it ran better than the last persons tipex belt job I never got round to checking it)

I got the car 2012, then my sisters, once she had it I fixed it when it was broken, but that was about it. She works with horses, and never cleaned inside the car, so the car stank/was manky! It picked up a couple of dents on the yard. It has overspray? from sitting in the previous owners yard. Original front seats were scrapped when 100s4 front seats were fitted, which were swapped with the V6 front seats from the 80q20v when it was sold.

It has had front wishbone bushes, track rod ends, probably drop links, and front tracking done, might all be hammered again from farm roads though. One rear wheel bearing rings a bell, thermostat, 1 shock, steering rack gaitor when I first got it

I cant remember what all else was done, it was a cheap runabout, so fixed when broken, rather than lovingly cared for. Never failed to start though.

I sold it September 2015

I found a new Boge front shock for this car in the garage the other day if you want it FOC?

Thanks Andy for confirming the belt having been done.

Will let you know about the shocker.......after a bounce test!
