Planning requirement in Scotland for new dwelling house and other extension applications also includes on site parking and in the past a garage was aloud to be included as a parking space, if the internal size was more than 2.5m wide and 5.0m long, this is also the size of a car parking space in town car parks but in a garage situation you don't have the neighboring space to give you that other couple of inches to access the car and if you have a coupe or 3 door car with longer doors you have problems with access, as you all will be aware that every one and their dug has a car now, parking on the street was to be a thing of the past, or that's what the local planning department would have you believe, three bedroom dwelling house needed 2 off street parking spaces and a four bedroom dwelling house needed 3 off street parking spaces and so on, every 6 dwelling houses needed 2 visitor on street parking spaces, the local councils thought this was a plan to get round the home car parking problem and again they were wrong, with all the dropped kerbs in a street there is very little street parking and with all the speed reducing measures taking up space as well and now garages use as storage not as a place to park you car we are in the shit we are in, lucky us, Sorry, I'm off my soap box now, normal transmission will resume shortly with lighthearted discussions about old car and their many problems.

They're not problems, only challenges in this "modern" world of ours !!

Good to get it off your chest though Colin, you'll sleep better for it

I have spent 2 days tidying the garage up now, what a job that was and all the while promising myself i will not let it get that bad again. All nice tidy and clean for sparky man tomorrow.

Wonder how long it will stay tidy.

funny thing is it's just as easy to put everything away, i always think to myself "will sort out tomorrow" and then just add to it

Glad it's not just me though
