Coupe/NG Temp sender
Morning!
I'm trying to replace the temp sender on the Coupe. The part number on the current sender is 035 919 369 L, the number listed on 7-zap is 035 919 369C. The L is a 4 pin sender, the C is a 3 pin sender. Everything I can find suggest that the 3 pin sender is a replacement for the L (despite it being the earlier suffix). Was the 4th pin superfluous or is there something else going on? The common listed aftermarket replacements (searching on both part numbers) is the Mahle TSW 46, which is a 3 pin part. I've been thrown into a state of discombobulation by this one. |

It's also commonly called the MFTS.
Just be aware of the poor quality ones which give a wrong reading. Meyle being the worst examples.

I did a crap load of reading on this as I also needed the 4 pin.
I found Audi still did it for something like £170 or so, right. The 3 pin ones still have the same number. There is a bloke in the USA who took a load of them, ( 3 pin ) and found they still actually worked in place as the 4 pin, however the 4 he tried all had slightly different resistances and gave slightly different temp readings, he ended up trying several more and found one that gave the nearest reading to what the actual temp was. Mine reads just slightly on the hot side of normal during this weather, the fans still kick in correctly from the other sender unit and I don't seem to have any issues. Now I know it is just slightly high I'm fine with it, also being a f*&*& sh**&t bag of a thing to get to this one was staying. David |

Very much my point of view when it comes to the gauge.
As long as it’s consistent I’ll be happy. |

Oil temp sensor location
The "bar graph" temperature indicator on my cq is indicating zero, the engine has been out and back in, I suspect (hope) the sensor has not been reconnected but I can't find the sensor.
Where is it?

Long time since I owned one of these but if you are referering to the oil temperate LED gauge then the sender is on the bottom of the oil pump (I assume its a 5 cylinder) its the bottom threaded section of the oil pump relief valve which is part number 035 919 521b according to 7zap.
