90 Speedo clock.
The odometer stopped working om my 1988 90 quattro, although the speedo actually works. Having read up on what causes it to fail, it transpires that there is a little plastic cog that cracks/breaks due to age/fatigue. I have managed to source a replacement speedo clock complete. Does anybody know how to adjust the mileage i.e. 'clock' the new clock to the correct mileage for my car? The replacement is showing 202k miles, so is obviously way out compared to mine, showing 133k, but probably should be showing 134.5k-135k now. Thanks in advance.

I had the job of mileage correction from kms to miles when I worked at a car dealer who specialized in imports.......depending on speedo type there's big potential in needing a new speedo if you try this yourself IMHO.
Why not try speedy cables ?....... http://www.speedycables.com/ |

lol But in this case it would be true. I am not trying to lower the mileage of the car, just get it working, and as accurate as possible. Replacing the speedo clock I have with the spare showing 202k miles aint gonna happen.
