That you have to search the codes written on CV joints, not search in catalogue for parts code which supposedly should be on that CV joint.

I actually was quite surprised that the rear driveshafts that I'm going to install on my A90q has codes that my ETKA can't find - but seems that the ones that should be there instead are identical, so I only don't understand why someone made them

Okay, solution is as simple as you pointed out Msh - swapping out the cv-joints is no problem. Just had a go in replacing them and it works fine. I have taken them back off again as i'm waiting on the new boots to arrive.

Here's a pic of the cv joints, the bigger one is the B2

Well, if you're changing boots, then you could also take apart both CV joints, clean all the grease away with some rag and after getting the boots [and so new grease] put them together, putting half of that amount inside the CV joint before putting it together. It's quite easy, only a bit dirty
