Pre-GM Saabs are class. Quirky and quality.
This was my 9000 which I had until June... It was an awesome car. 200bhp. Ultimate cruiser.

I have to admit I enjoyed my '88 9000 very much. I think it was the same platform as the Fiat Croma and Lancia Thema?
The only downside to it was the fact that it was finished in Rose Quartz, a sort of mushroomy/bronze colour, with a red velour interior. This didn't bother me too much, all that mattered at the time was the fact that it was quick and great to drive. |

i always loved the original 99 and 900 turbos. my uncle used to work for them and brought one of the first ones (can't remember if it was a 99t or 900t) up to take Dad and i out for a blast in. it was a freezing cold winter's night and uncle ian thrashed that thing for a good bit and then told Dad and i to step outside and check out the engine....i can still remember seeing this weird doughnut shaped thing glowing red hot not to mention the bright red brake discs with steam belching off out from the wheel arches! he was mental. but great fun!

Not a proper Saab this, but the legendary Per Eklund, probably one of the greatest ambassadors for the manufacturer, doing his thing:
