The original is removable front and back
I quite like the idea of drainage pipes, but you could only fit one as the other would be squashed under the blower unit, unless a new drain point was made |

Here is another option, seems to be made from plastic or rubber sheeting.

^ That is a good solution and obviously very cheap to do. Rubber sheeting would be my material of choice for longevity, nice find Q777!
My dads friend took a look at the car and one idea he had was to make a fibreglass cowel (Simon?) and fit it to underneath the bonnet with drain-pipes to take the water out to the normal drain holes. I liked this idea, and it would be simple to do. Question is, do we really need those vents in the bonnet (for the fan I guess)? They appear to be causing 90% of the problem imho! |

On my T43 as you're standing looking from the front of the car there is one drain plug that goes into the O/S front wing, and the other hole is to the left of the battery. Is there another drain hole I am not aware of? Cheers |

On the 200 there are 4 drain points, i can only assume rightly or wrongly all type 43's are the same, one into each wing, one under the blower unit and one to the left and forward of the battery when viewed from the front, that and the one under the blower have rubber drains in them.

Hi Sinbin. No, not at all I'm afraid.
My dads friend suggested getting the car back on the road before worrying too much about the plastic shield and I am inclined to agree with him. I think I will just have to tape over the air intakes in the bonnet so that water doesn't get in through there in the meantime. There's still a bit of work to be done on the car to get it back on the road, and I haven't even run it yet, so this will have to take a back-seat for the time-being to be sensible about it. Hopefully some others may have some more ideas? |

I think when it does come to the time, I would look into the belt and braces, scoop directly under the vents fixed to the bonnet, plus a liner to cover over the fan area.
