1984 Audi Coupe GT5S For Sale

Car For Sale: 1984 (B) Audi Coupe GT5S 2.0 5 Cylinder

Condition: Very good for 30 years old. Has quite a few stone chips to bonnet. A few minor blemishes to exterior as you would expect for a 30 year old car. Interior is very tidy. Arches are all very clean. Overall condition is 8/10. Very tidy looking retro car.

Mileage: 102,700

Location: Northamptonshire. 4 miles from Watford Gap services on the M1.

Price: £1895

For sale is my Audi Coupe GT5s in remarkably good condition for the year. This is the early version with the small bumpers. The engine has covered 102,700 miles and is the 2 litre fuel injected 5 cylinder engine. Haven't had it long but have always wanted to own a coupe. I bought the car with the intention of storing it as it will only appreciate in value as these cars become even harder to come by. Job circumstance has changed therefore I must give up a few of my much loved vehicles.

The car is completely faultless mechanically. Everything works exactly as it should. The only things I have replaced are the power steering and alternator belts to go with the cambelt and water pump change the previous owner changed. The car is stored in my garage and checked regularly holding very good oil pressure, no oil leaks and runs perfect with a nice throaty note from the exhaust. The gearbox and clutch are also nice and smooth as they should be. The interior is in fantastic condition. At some point in its life it has been changed to the Quattro interior which is in fantastic condition with no rips in the seats and no cracks in the dash. The car has 1 key for the ignition and 1 for the door. To add to the originality of the car it has the original Blaupunkt radio cassette fitted. I have spent a bit of time and money investing in some of the bodywork to get it back up to the high standard it deserves.

Positives to consider:
• The car has recently been serviced (spark plugs, oil and filters +cam belt and water pump).
• Replaced power steering and alternator belts.
• All four tyres with excellent tread. Roughly 5-6mm all around.
• This car will only appreciate in value.
• Not many left especially in this colour and condition.
• Taxed Until September 30th
• MOT until October 2014
• Extremely cheap classic car insurance
• Car literally wants for nothing. Just an owner that appreciates it greatly and cherishes it.

The only real negatives is the lack of service history with the car. This didn't put me off after an extensive vehicle check it is clear to see that this car has been very well maintained. Also the sunroof needs attention as it is difficult to open but has no leaks. This hasn’t really been an issue to me as I’m happy to just use the electric windows provided in this beautiful classic.

It is a regrettable sale and I really do want an enthusiast to take it from me so it gets pampered and enjoyed as it should.

This is clearly a solid example and you're presenting it well so GLWS.

TBH though, your asking price is at the very top of the range for the model and the lack of service history plus several non-original features make it ambitious!

Funny how people speculate on price! In my opinion I got it at a good price but it was more than what the auction went for! I think the auction went for £942. As again stated, I paid more!
The price is on the upper scale. Price is obviously negotiable but judging by the current market I think the price is very reasonable compared to the price of other similar cars on sale today.
Would be nice to keep the thread clear. Feel free to PM me or contact me via mobile if you are interested in the car.

It looks very nice, but what's up with the front bumper/blinkers? Never seen that before?

That will be the Audi 80 bumper with the later blinkers grafted in

I figured...makes me think it may have been damaged.

Doesn't look bad though, maybe even a bit more modern.

Edited my comment on the price , sorry if it annoyed you

As I said good luck with sale (a bit more honesty maybe on
the condition would be nice though )

Revised the price on the car. Don't understand how you can imply anywhere where I have been dishonest regarding condition?

Back to the topic. Please feel free to get in contact with me regarding the car. It really is a special car that is only going to appreciate in time.
