So I'd like to recap a few things here....
http://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+80+.../9/919-919060/ No.7 from the above diagram, is the thermal switch for the afterrun, turning the fans on when the ignition is off, and the car is hot under the bonnet (how hot??, and how is it taking this temp?) http://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+80+.../9/959-959050/ No.19 from the above diagram, is the actual temp of the fluid, after being round the radiator. This should activate at 95 degrees? (first stage, both fans on but slower than second stage???) and then higher, what figure?? (Second stage?? Both fans running but harder than first stage?). And to test that the loom to it is working, one needs to bridge the wiring ( when unplugged from the switch) and the fan should come on, with the keys in the ignition. Then finally.... http://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+80+.../9/919-919060/ No.11/12 and 13 from the above diagram, send temperature to the ecu and the instrument gauge. IF ANYONE CAN add to the above, especially interested in temps for when the fan, controlled by no.19 kicks in, then please reply and hopefully knowledge will be gained!!! Many thanks! I'll report back on the wiring to my no.19, and see if I can get the fan/s to turn on.. |

have you got a 2 pin or 3 pin #19 ?
2 pin comes on at 95 and goes off at 90. 3 pin comes on stage 2 @ 95, off at 84. stage 3 on @ 102, off at 91 afterrun #7 comes on at 110 and goes off at 103

Right e ho... Mine is a two pin (although it's a three pin but with only two metal connectors in it, and the switch itself has two spades)
Tested it just now with the ignition on, using a paperclip and leatherman (just about took my finger off! even though i'd thought about the fan coming on! lol, plonker) and yep the fan whizzes (is that a word? haha) up. I also checked no.7 and with the ignition on, it does nothing, with the ignition off, it also whizzes up!! So loom is all good. Looks like i need a new no.19 |
