It ain't perfect, but when you go in to a dealership armed with some actual details, it speeds things along because you can guarantee, if the car isn't in the showroom, many of the parts guys you speak to will be oblivious of the cars prehistoric history.
Yep, I have indeed seen your VagCat diagrams, have a bookmark link somewhere too I think, just not had the time to figure out how to use it properly yet.
The parts guys at my local dealership are a pretty helpful bunch, several of them even know my car well enough to not be totally clueless on the older cars, just on this rare occasion they were unable to find the emblems on their system, and with them being NLA, well, no point bothering them any further, just gotta plod on with finding them elsewhere.

For the side logos, you can still get the later version from an A4

I think it's safe to say that I have enough leads for the front oval wing emblems now, thanks guys!

Can anyone offer up any additional info for the "Audi" boot lid emblem please?

Well Leggy, i can't find the invoices for my badges but they have all been put into one cardboard envelope ( i can here you thinking aaaannnnd ) well the envelope seems to have what i hope is the relevant information on it

So it says, part description NAME PLATE

Part number 8A0-853-743-D -2ZZ

That is exactly as it appears, so i hope name plate means Audi badge. Hope i have been some help to you
